WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM @ SLIM’S 2007
July 10th, 2008
GRAVES AT SEA, LUDICRA, and WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM. October 2nd, 2007. That was one hell of a line-up. Graves debuted the “new” and shortlived line-up with Chiyo (Noothgrush) on drums and Miguel (Sourvein) on bass. Ludicra ripped it up as they usually do. And odd to see WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM as the headlining band now, but they’ve become the band lately.
I’ve seen WOLVES numerous times, and this one did not disappoint. They commanded, they shredded, they lulled me into a stoned as fuck hypnotic trance. Like NEUROSIS, WOLVES shows are becoming this “thing”, it’s kinda spiritual if I were into that shit. I dunno how to describe it, but the music puts me in my head, and I just like having it surround me. Total dork I know, but hey, fuck it. So when I go see ‘em, like Neurosis, I gotta be a nerd and make my recording of the “experience”. So here I am sharing for all ya’ll that just might like them as much as I do. It’s a lo-fi recording, just a single mic and a hard disc recorder, but I love it. it’s also just two of the three songs played, as my battery died halfway through the last song. Dang it.
