MOTHERFUCKER OF ALL MOTHERFUCKING MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!
I’ve been sitting on this for a while, and was finally told that I can go ahead and upload this! This is the 1994 NOOTHGRUSH demo which has never been released! GET READY FOR THE DOOM!!!! This demo features Gary’s clean vocal style, as opposed the screamed vocals that are featured in every other NOOTHGRUSH recording. This is taken right from the demo tape itself and ripped to WAV and 320 kbps mp3s. Hopefully someday these will be properly released, but for now feel free to enjoy the mp3s I’ve made. THANK YOU TO CHIYO FOR THE TAPE!!!!!!!!
And I know I say something about smoking weed every time I post something, but really, if ever there was a time to roll a huge joint and just go for it, now would be that time!!! SMOKE ENORMOUS WEED!!!!!!
A last minute show at a nearby bar, and HARVEY MILK’s first time on the west coast? This was not to be missed, though truthfully I was a bit baked and hemmed and hawed the afternoon of. Nothing a GURU couldn’t solve!
So HARVEY MILK crushed. They were loud as fuck. And I recorded it. So check out these mp3s. 24 hours ago as of my typing this I was at this show getting baked and ready to watch this set. So I’m tired, stoned, and rambling. Download this show.
Thanks to LAVAMANDA for booking this show for us East bay folk!!!! Check her other bas=d ass shows coming up HERE
I made a few plans to see DA in the last few years they played, and every time I had to bow out for usually work and sometimes just plain ol’ poverty issues. Fuckers never played Rochester! But at least a few kind souls would hook me up with some recordings, audio and video. It’s something at least. And now with these fancy modern times and these blog things, I can share some of this shit with ya!
So yeah, here’s a soundboard recording smeone sent me of DA’s record release show in NYC at CBGB’s on June 3rd 2000. Thanks to whoever sent it to me, I forgot but obviously you rule!!!
DOWNLOAD THIS RIGHT HERE!!!
Lethargy!!! This was the band to go see if you lived in Rochester, NY in the 90’s. I’d nerd out and go see them, and pop these tapes into the soundboards whenever I could. This show was Lethargy opening for Underdark, I forget who else was on the bill. It was just before they took a break to write a few new tunes and record their debut CD.
The lineup was Erik Burke on guitar and vocals, Brann Dailor on drums, Bill Kelliher on guitar and Adam Routier on bass and vocals. Some of these guys have moved on to some bands you might have heard of after they broke up in 1998. They played one last show on Christmas of 1999 and that was it. Enjoy this tape of them back when the reverb ran wild!!!
Fucking fuck yeah!!!! I dug out a tape someone sent me ten years ago with a couple live Noothgrush radio sets, here’s the first of the two. This is Noothgrush live at KZSU Stanford Radio in Palo Alto, CA recorded on May 1st, 1996. Download and enjoy, share it around, and check back soon for more live Noothgrush! Oh, and This lineup features Matt Harvey along with Chiyo, Russ, & Gary. DOWNLOAD THIS FUCKER RIGHT HERE

Recorded live at Annie’s Social Club in San Francisco, CA on July 11th 2008. Corin, Noah, and I squeezed into a room full of amps to bear witness to a mighty night of RIFFS!!! Dirty, ugly, stoned and drunk riffs! So for this episode we are bringing you a few tunes each from BLACK COBRA and SAVIOURS. Sonny, from WATCH THEM DIE / WORD SALAD is now in SAVIOURS, so check out the triple guitar lineup going on in this video! They even broke out a cover of MOTORHEAD’s “Fast & Loose” for an encore!
Both bands are fucking wicked as fuck, but just watch the video and decide for yourself. BUT GET HIGH AS FUCK OR DIE!!!!
This years UGZ Speed Trials were fucking AWESOME!!! Seriously, every band this year was great, and as a judge it was pretty hard to choose a winner from the bunch. Look at this lineup:
LACK OF INTEREST cancelled, but the show still managed to rage from start to finish. Here’s a couple of songs from each band!!! Thanks to Pete Pontikoff for his help in this episode! GRIIIIIIINNNDDD!!!
Recorded live at Sweet’s Ballroom in lovely Downtown Oakland from their tour with The Red Chord and Converge, Genghis Tron and Baroness opened the show, but for me they were the show. Genghis Tron has managed to challenge my hate for bands with artificial drums by their shear power of Hamilton’s riffs and their songs as a whole, as well as the general fun-ness and charisma of the band in a live setting. I’ve seen GT numerous times and they keep getting better. Fuck yeah.
This was my first Baroness show, I think anyway, I don’t remember if I saw them at Burnt Ramen or not. Shows there are always a bit of a haze for some reason… So this is my first time looking forward to seeing them, and I came away satisfied. The space seemed to work in their favor, as the large room made their riffs that more much large and spacious sounding.
Sadly both bands were mere openers on this tour, so the sets weren’t as long as I’d have liked. But both bands left me excited to see them the next time they pass through the bay area.
Sweet’s Ballroom was a pretty wicked space, I’d love to see some other larger bands play there, such as Mastodon or Neurosis. The room sounded great, and it is right down the road from where I live! That can work against it for me though, as I left the show to drop off my video gear at home, and fully meant to come back and watch Converge, but the pot came out, and um… we missed Converge. I’d seen them a bunch, but never down the street from me. Totally false. But I don’t blame the weed or anything.
So blah blah blah, check out the god damned video already!
This episode ain’t got shit to do with the local or live music scene. We are switching it up, because we were busy as fucking hell working on these projects for our sound design and video editing classes. So this episode features the fruits of our hard work, the final projects for our classes! These are two videos, one from Corin and one from myself (Dan). Corin’s is first and is totally fucking awesome. Mine is “stone-y”.
