GRAYCEON are a San Francisco band that’s kinda hard to describe. They are a three piece with guitar, drums and cello, and vocals too. The music is often dreamy and at times can switch gears and get somewhat chunky and heavy sounding. Songs range in length from three or four minutes, to twenty minute epics. I’ve been a fan of this band for over five years now I guess, wow. Seems like just yesterday Corin and I were at this show in San Francisco, at Annie’s Social Club. Grayceon replaced Asunder on this bill, which as much as I loved Asunder, was fine with me. I’d been seeing Asunder a lot, and while I’d seen Grayceon a couple times, this was the first time I ever recorded a set from them. This was originally shot on two cameras, but my shot kinda sucks, and it looks sloppy edited together. This single camera shot is just perfect. The picture is a bit dark, but I like it because it’s just far enough away to get the whole band in one shot. The audio is pretty good on this as well. This was prior to the release of Grayceon’s self titled debut album, and mostly features songs from that album, with the exception of the first song, which was released on their follow up, This Grand Show. Go get all of their albums if you don’t have them. Listen to them a bunch, tell your friends and family about them, and watch this video at full volume. Do that, and you will be pretty cool.
