In 2009 BRAINOIL rose back from the dead and began playing shows again! This was pretty exciting for me, and lots of other folks too, because Brainoil was pretty much a staple of east bay shows. Brainoil played everything with everybody, they always fit and they were always fun. By the mid 2000′s the band was slowing down to the point of only playing shows every couple of years it seemed. Ira was busy with Watch Them Die, Nate had Nigel Peppercock and Stormcrow, and Greg joined Laudanum, as well as playing in I Will Kill You Fucker. So when Tankcrimes announced a show with Ramming Speed, Cannabis Corpse, Brainoil, and Ghoul, I damn near crapped! Brainoil have steadily played rad shows since. They even released a new full length, Death Of This Dry Season. Several songs from that album were played this night, as well as some of the old favorites. The third song in this set is a song you probably won’t hear them play again. It was recorded for Death Of This Dry Season, but it didn’t make the final cut. Enjoy this, get baked, open a delicious beer or brew some tea, just get comfortable and play the damned thing as loud as you can!
