We are huge MELT BANANA fans at KTC. We’ve gone to see them as often as we can over the past 11 years or so. So I pretty much crapped when I heard that Dave Witte, one of my favorite drummers, was signing up to be their touring drummer! I saw them twice with Dave, in 2002 and 2003. The 2002 video is already up, and so here’s a song from their 2003 appearance at Slim’s in San Francisco. This video is a little bit on the dark side, and kinda shake because I was all the way up on the balcony in the back of the venue, and had to zoom all the way in. Also, if you’ve been to Slim’s, you probably know there’s a bunch of supporting columns throughout the floor, including one near the front of the stage. That one blocks their bass player from my perspective, so if you’re wondering why I didn’t shoot her so much, that’s why. So yeah, Melt Banana! Woohoo! Play this one loud because it’s awesome and has Dave Witte on drums! Also, note Dave’s Municipal Waste shirt, before he was in that band!
