Time to hate everything with the Boston sludge kings GRIEF! I’d seen them in Rochester, New York in the 90′s, but missed them when they played here in the bay area, just a few weeks after I moved here. I wanted to go, but I was working two jobs, and I spoke the always famous last words “I’ll catch them next time…” You know what happens when you say that? Fate laughs at you and causes the band to break up. Same thing happened with Noothgrush probably a month later. D’oh! Well, in 2005 I got to give the middle finger to fate when I found out GRIEF would be reforming for an appearance at the first Boston Doom & Grind Festival. I flew out to see them alongside bands like Conifer, Phobia, Kill The Client, Ocean, Biolich and a bunch of other killer bands. Grief played for over an hour, with two lineups and tunes from each album. Of course, I brought my camera and now I can share some of it with you fine folks.
This show went so well, Grief remained a band for another year or so, but then eventually broke up again in 2006. Fuckers. They also reformed again in 2008, and broke up again in 2009. Fuckers.
