One of the biggest surprises for me about 2011 was the death of ANAL CUNT vocalist Seth Putnam, especially since it came just a month after seeing them tour for their recently released record, Fuckin A. I know a lot of people may hate Anal Cunt, and for good reason. Since they were the first grindcore band I’d ever heard and been into, I’ve always dug them. Seeing them live had been a goal of mine for years when I lived on the east coast, and I never got the opportunity. Once I moved out west, it seemed like they began touring out this way again, and did so a few times. I was pumped to finally get to see them when I found out they’d be playing The Stork Club in Oakland (with Benumb and Fall Silent!). Of course I shot video of this milestone. I honestly sort of expected them to suck for some reason, I figured I’d be let down, but no, they were entertaining as hell! They played a long set full of songs from all albums, noise blurs included. Lots of stuff off Top 40 Hits too, I wasn’t expecting it! Here’s a couple tunes from the video I shot.
