YOBYOB.  Holy fuck, I had no idea.  I had heard of Yob before,  but for some reason their songs didn’t stick with me.  When they came to town and played the Elbo Room in 2005 I went, but I went for Asunder and Graves At Sea, who opened the show.  I almost left, since BART stops running shortly after midnight and that time was rapidly approaching.  However, I had time to check out a song at least.  10 minutes later, my jaw was on the floor, and I was scrambling to secure a ride home and get my recording gear back out.  So I missed most of the first song.  But I caught the rest, and was totally floored.  I wish I had recorded video, but hell, I was glad I at least got something.  This isn’t a perfect recording at all, but for me this is amazing, as it reminds me of that moment and the excitement I felt.  Shortly after this the band released their 4th record, The Unreal Never Lived, and then broke up.  Mike resurfaced with a new band called Middian, who then also broke up after legal issues surrounding their name caused them to be dropped from their label. And now, after all that, YOB is back!  So yeah, like I said, not a perfect recording since I had torn everything down and had to hold everything.  Sometimes you hear the chatter of folks at a bar, but fuck, I still think this rules, and maybe so will you. Somewhere I have a master, but I am not sure what hard drive it’s on, so all I have is mp3s.  Get baked and play it loud!
