Today I’m sharing my favorite live tape of my favorite Rochester band, LETHARGY. Before Brann and Bill started Mastodon, before Erik was doing Sulaco, Brutal Truth, and Nuclear Assault, they were were playing in this crazy, silly band. It’s heavy, it’s pretty tech, it rocks, and because this was recorded at the Penny Arcade, it’s also totally drenched in reverb. Oh well. This was from a tape I stuck in the soundboard. It misses some of the beginning, but otherwise it’s the complete performance. It was a short set, their last before taking a break to write a few new tunes and record their first CD. This was transferred by Dave LaPlaca a few years back. Dave recorded Lethargy as much as I did, that’s fucking awesome.
So, here’s the show. Like I said, get ready for tons of reverb, but otherwise this is a completely kick ass performance. It’s also great because I can hear Paul, Ozzy, Dalcin, and even myself between songs. Good times were always had at Lethargy shows. Smoke a big fat god damned joint for this one!
